12 Ode to Argument Styles

There are some key characteristics of your argumentative essay that will not change. You will have an introduction, a body, and a conclusion. Additionally, it is wise to include counterarguments and rebuttals to contribute to a well-rounded conversation regarding your topic. You can quickly lose readers’ interest if your argument remains one-sided. Including other perspectives provides credibility because it allows your readers to know that you have considered multiple viewpoints.

                  Following these basic points extends leeway into choosing an argument style. The three models we will discuss include the Rogerian, Toulmin, and Classical argument models. We will also review deductive and inductive reasoning, and how to use reasoning to make logical arguments.
