I joined the dietitian internship during the summer after my junior year. There were many requirements before signing up that had to be fulfilled, such as being in the top 20% of the class and some subjects had to be scored above 75. While the requisites to enter were challenging, I ultimately was glad to have joined this community.  Some of the properties that drew me to this hospital were the type of hospital. It is a teaching hospital and very large with a lot of resources, funding, courses, and patients who had complicated illnesses. We will have many opportunities to meet patients with complicated illnesses. When I entered the Department of Nutrition, I set my sights on becoming a dietitian. Therefore, I would try my best to get any good training and opportunities. I have learned how to write a complete nutritional record, meals or needs of different patients, and anything a hospital dietitian must do in this community. It convinced me that I had to pass the test because I wanted to be as good as those dietitians in hospital. Even though it is the most exhausting hospital to intern at, a large part of passing my license test was due to the solid training I got at this hospital. In my presentation, I used different rhetorical strategies to showcase my internship and to give someone a better understanding of what a dietitian internship involves.

The photos in my slideshow were all taken by myself or my co-worker during my internship. Slide 2 to 4 introduce the hospital community and its purpose. I have used some figures to give the audience a better idea, such as the composition of the members, when it was founded, and the number of members.  Simply put, this is a large hospital with solid training and many professions to learn. And this internship is a must for every student who wants to take the Dietitian exam.

In slide 5 and 6 I include what the values or characteristics are in this community. I have mentioned two examples from different fields. Both show that I was experiencing what a dietitian can do for the community or for the patients. It means that I was experiencing the core value of a dietitian! The picture on slide 7 shows how to properly weigh food. The fun part of weighing food is that I get to discover the differences in the composition of the ingredients in each restaurant, and I get more attentive to the local people’s diets. Slide 8 although it was a meeting, I think that it is the most rewarding part of this community. I learned so much more with the help of the dietitian who was my mentor.

In slide 10, a half-finished but messy piece of work was used as a picture to symbolize how the members of the group are very capable but may not always work well together. After solving the problem, the team would be able to show a well-finished product. Many useful things have been added to enrich the work, as shown in the pictures from slide 11.

Overall, I have used plenty of photos taken by myself to add credibility to this presentation. I also included a lot of my inner emotions, such as fulfillment, to show my satisfaction with the internship. I am hoping that through my explanation that everyone can better understand the work content of the Dietitian Internship in Taiwan.
